All of the SlingBoxes will be pretty much the same(crappy) in Landscape mode because it's not the Box that is the problem, it's the software(as evidence the potrait mode is smooth).

Now, I have read where people have said that the Pro will give you "slightly" better framerates because it uses a better codec, but to be honest, I didn't see much, if any really difference, with regard to framerates(I had the regular SlingBox first and then returned it and went with the Pro).

The difference is the HD vs SD only. The Pro's HD streaming looks really good on the phone, however you need a really good home internet connection, in order to be able to stream it well. I have 16mbps down, 2mbps up so I am good in that regard.

im not worried about streaming in HD as i just have a regualr cable box that i am streaming from and the hd is like 299 wich is a little much IMO i just want to be able to watch sports when im at work like i am doing right now but i just want good picture and really want the landscape to work i dont understand why it works in portrait fine but not in landscape makes no sense to me.

i had read people with the new sling mobile app have the lanscape and it works flawlessly? is this not true?

Doesn't make much sense to me either, except that the TP's are VGA devices and I don't think Sling was quite ready to handle the higher VGA resolution with their software.

For what I have read(if I remember right), I think they are doing a complete rewrite, for their next version. How this will change things I dunno, but I'm guessing the rewrite was needed to be able to handle these newer higher resolution devices coming out.

Well really depends on what you have as source and if HD is that important to you.

I have the Solo and I'm quite happy with it, component output on my AT&T U-Verse through the box is quite acceptable with the 2Mbps up service.

Of course it can't beat HDMI out, but then again, what is the point to try to watch 720/1080 program on our phone and expect it to be as good as the bigger LCD panel anyway.

Well in that case, Solo works. Of course you can check out alternatives such as Hava.
