Phone powering off

So every time I slide my phone open or closed my phone turns itself completely off and I have to remove the battery to power it back on. This is not a battery life issue either i've tried 3 different batteries.This is driving me nuts! Even if the phone accidentally slides open a little bit inside the case it will just immediately go black not power down or anything. Its been happening for about 12 hours now and Im going to a sprint store after work if I can't resolve the issue on my own. Any suggestions?

have you tried a hard reset? if it's not a hardware glitch, it should fix.. save the waiting around at the store anyway.
