Softkeys disappear :(

Hi, recently started having a problem with my sprint touch diamond. i noticed it a few times before but didnt really mind to much but now that i am trying to get my uc sdconfig.txt working and it has become a real problem. when i have the hide:enabled and lock:disabled for programs that need user interaction i get stuck and have to abort the whole thing due to the lack of softkeys. i have tried this will a few different roms (mightymike and cfay's) so i dont think that is the problem. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.
