Hit it with a hammer until it breaks into small bits.

Gather the bits, and bring them into the store.

Say "I was not able to figure out the screen protector, so I used a hammer to apply it. Apparently the instructions are unclear. May I have another please?"

Yeah, that should do it.

Or, maybe, just live with the scratch, as thats normal wear.

That's how I put on my screen protector... are you saying that's wrong?

I vote to use this one. It's by far the most plausible story we can come up with!

Scratchs suck. If it was on the screen it'd annoy me too, but that's why I make sure to use a screen protector. I guess there's times when the screen can still get screwed, but maybe there is a way to reduce the cosmetic damage of it?

Make sure it is not a ballpean hammer, the directions do state if the corners do not stay down to tap them very hard with a ballpean hammer.

On a serious note, I do agree that you have to live with the minor wear and tear. Should have got one of those clear, full phone protective sticker do hickies.

First of all if you really care about the cosmetics of your phone, then you'd of bought one of the MANY screen/device protectors. Now you expect Sprint to foot the bill because of YOUR OWN negligence. I understand "gaming the system," hell I read slickdeals.net more than I'm on here, but this is just so far beyond that.

Honestly, lilhgarcia I'm appalled that you would even do this, and much more appalled that you'd post it publicly AND ask others help you with such a scheme.

I can't believe that you're a VIP member here, utterly sickens me.
Let Me put some enlightenment to this thread

I just wanted a simple excuse i didn't really want to type the whole entire story but it seems i have to

i have a scratch caused by my dog running into it now the scratch isnt really that big but it cuts off a few thing when i'm trying to read a text message i been living with it for about a month but i want a new TP because

A) Screen
B) This is a replacement phone and for some reason it terrible compare to the 1st one i had
C) Battery Life is rediculous as i posted before and someone kindly said you can exchange it and press your luc

So i want to press my luck for a new one to do that i cant just go in and say my TP is too slow because they'll just say to do a hard reset

there is no need to be acting like this when im trying myself (i am human and i am just a teenager)

For all you who gave me advices thanks

Re: Need a good Excuse

OMG!!! It's people like you that make it so expensive to own something nice. You scratched it, you deal with it. Don't make all of us pay for your freakin mistake!! This is what I was actually talking about in my other posts about people doing things to their phones....then saying OH NO I broke it, what can I do to get a new one??!! PLus it's just a scratch, boo hoo! If and when a child of yours gets a scratch on him or her, you going to take them back as well??

No offense to you as you are just a teenager, but I too am appalled at this FRAUD scheme to get a new phone and anyone who advocates the process to help you. Things happen! Such as life and life ain't fair.

Well for the record, people judge you by what you give them. It's an everyday fact (ex. dress well, they judge you as someone that takes care of themselves, etc).

You only gave us enough info to lead us to believe you merely had a scratch that was not an issue, and everyone responded to just that.

A)Have you tried a screen fixer dealie? Yea, what I mean is, I have read there is sometype of filler that will help with screen scratchs. There is something for the ipod in particular. Google it. Worth the shot.

B)I don't know if it is as slow. Perhaps it is running an upgraded rom (which might have made it slower). Have you considered flashing your TP to mighty or juicy (or others)?

C)Batteries have to be trained. Did you train yours? If you did, perhaps it was used before yours and wasn't trained. Maybe retraining it might be a good idea.

If you've tried all these things, then it does seem like you might have to move on to the bigger and badder choices. If everyone just defaulted to getting a new device, our deductables and premiums go up (oh they did).

This is my advice ^^^

Well now that people understand what's going on, I think they will help work with you to see if the issues, all of them, are resolvable.

I personally don't know when it would be considered ethicial to go for a replacement TP. I would be interested in seeing what others would say to this.

I'm not too familiar with broken parts, but I know there are sprint repair stores (at least I know of one in saint louis), perhaps they might be able to fix the screen at a small cost (less than deductable)?

Also, maybe you can also get another battery from them?

Sry for the # of posts.
