Email Button?

Ok, I did a search and couldn't find an answer to this so perhaphs I suck at searching.

When I open my Touch Pro keyboard, it goes into landscape mode you get the screen with the links to "Email, Messages, Bookmarks, Web Search, etc".

But if I click on the Email button, it takes me to the text message screen. If I click the messages button, it takes me to the text messages screen. Is there a fix for this? Shouldn't clicking the email button take me to emails?

Also, on the hardware keyboard there is an envelope button to the left of the space bar, and also a TXT button next to that. Shouldn't these take me to text messages screen, and email screens respectively? The TXT button takes me to the text message area, but the envelope takes me to the same place.
