Okay I cleared storage and everything is good. I was getting random hard resets wipeing my phone clean with the new MR6 and was told to complete the above procedure in my original post on the previous page. I am using the original Sprint radio. Would it wipe the settings to upgrade the radio? Would I gain anything by upgrading the radio over the stock sprint? Thanks for the help and I hit the thanks button.

I upgraded to the Telus radio & it didn't wipe out my settings. I think there's just something in the OEM ROM, combined with the Radio that wipes everything out. The consensus seems to be to try different radios and then do a ##DEBUG# (the code is 183729) and then look at the signal strength in the field trial app that pops up. The lower the dbm value the better. I'm not really sure I gained much benefit with the Telus radio, but I stuck with it anyway. My only recommendation is to stay away from the Verizon radio. I couldn't get GPS working with it.

Ok bad news...

So Umm I talked to an awesome tech! and she didnt know how I got my older sprint phone working on verizon but she was able to add m y meid to the databse and 2 days later they emailed me saying that they cant add that device to the network...


What can I do now?

I just went thru my own ordeal.

In my case, My Sprint TP was working at one time, so when they said the whole "not tested", I told them it was bull crap, the phone has worked on their network without issue. There is NOTHING in the agreement that said the phone "must be tested and approved" on the verizon network.

I got to a tech that put in for the ESN database update, they came back and said they "will not".

I got to his boss...we reviewed the customer agreement again...He basically said the will not do it...it's not allowed....I argued with the guy...threatening to leave..he said he couldn't do anything.

He offered to let me out of my contract without fee....my contract is up in December anyways so it wasn't a big deal...

He offered to give me $100 dollars towards a verizon touch pro on a 1 year agreement. I will be eligable for a "2 year upgrade" price in June, which I will probably do and get the TP2.

Bottom Line: VERIZON WILL NOT ENABLE SPRINT PHONES.

Keep trying until you find someone who can and will do it for you. It took me a couple months of bugging VZW until I finally got someone to do it. If you dont have that sort of time then you may want to look into using a temp VZW approved phone while you keep on the fight or then just give up and leave VZW so you can go to a carrier who supports the phone you want to use.

I believe that once they have submitted or number to be added and its rejected your number is then red flagged and that meid will never get through. This worked before verizon had a list of sprint meids and before the alltel transition was complete but now your basically sol. Two options I know is wait for the TP2 to come out on verizon or go to sprint.

I have heard of people getting the TP to work on Boost mobile but I haven't seen it. get a TP with sprint 3g all unlimited for 50.00 a month is a great deal if you can get it happen.

Where are you getting this info from? Looking back at my post telling everyone of my success, I got my TP on VZW just a few days before 7/21/09. I know it took 3-4 attempts. So, if they were red flagging MEIDs they would of had to just start within the past 30 days.

its mostly dependent on the support agent. Not too many are knowledgeable on the process itself

I initially had mine working at one point as well but then reactivated another phone to confirm it was working. Then when I went back to my TP I was blocked. VZW cross checked the MEIDs and pulled ones out that there not theirs or Alltels. I called back many times to get this phone back on and they had told me each time that the meid was flagged as sprint and for legal reasons could not be activated. So this is just my experiance.

So good luck if you got your on or if you are still trying. if you do don't activate another phone thinking you can put your sprint tp back on easy.
