offical youtube app-how is it on your TP?

I thought this was note worthy news. I posted a while back that although the UI for the HTC youtube apps is great I get a conneciton error all the time, from the lack of response I assumed it was unfixable, anyways... her is an article on it:

Be warned, it overrides your HTC youtube, dont know if deleting the cab deletes the offical and keeps the HTC, will have to test. Anyways, according to the article the video quality is "very good", it is terribel on my, very poor quality. I even went over wifi to see if that fixed it and still no bones. What about you guys, what do you think? What kind of quality?

This is a nice find, but i think i'll stick with the app because i don't have any problems.

im not big on youtube.. just for trailers really.. and the stock app always looks crisp and clean on mine and its not even set to high quality..

Your right about the quality. It does seem to connect much quicker though.
how do i get the HTC youtuve app back? I can't seem to find the cab anywhere

The original YouTube file is in /windows/youtube.exe and the shortcut is at /windows/youtube.lnk. Just copy the shortcut back to /windows/start menu/programs. You can keep both of them. You just have to change the name of one of the shortcuts since by default they have the same name.

The stock app works well for me, quality is fine. My only gripe is that I can't input my info and watch my favorites.

+1...I was really hoping they would allow you to sign into your own youtube account and watch your saved favorites, or save videos that you watch on your mobile to your faves list. Alas...this is not true...at least not yet.

I was disappointed by that, but then that's what Skyfire's for.

Mine always worked well "stock" if it"s included in the rom i'm using I believe...coreplayer also does it well too.
