Problems Tethering TP

I need some help. I am having oppurtunities tethering my HTC Touch Pro. I use to be able to before yesterday but now I am unable to connect. I go to internet sharing and click connect (I have USB as PC connection) and it does not connect it just stalls at status: Check USB cable connection. I have tried reinstalling the tethering cab file and even reset my phone I even loaded windows mobile device center even though I never had to before.

Any help would be appreciated.

Does anybody have any ideas. I have tried to reset my Touch Pro again and redid the reg edits and it still does not connect. I know it has to be something simple but I am missing it.

Whenever it does this to me, I will try removing the cable, waiting a minute, and plugging it back in. If that doesn't do it, I restart the phone and the computer.

Which OS are you trying to tether to? Have the option of tethering over bluetooth?
