Re: yay! first broken touch pro! :(

If they try to deny you replacement of a physically defective or broken phone because you have modified the software, just say "Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975 prohibits you from denying my service without proof that my modification caused the damage". If they still argue, tell them you will be filing a claim in small claims court.

i highly doubt it. the insurance program isn't meant for a cheap way to upgrade devices. they'll be giving out touch pros until they run out, and with the amount that have been returned, that should be a good couple of years lol

lol, no joke.
****in htc failed with the TP.

Ummmm dude. ever hear of car, health, home owner's insurance?
Hello....
It's called insurance.
It's how insurance works.
You pay them a monthly fee, and then when you need them, they deny or drop you. simple as that.

ha, i'm 17, so no.. i didn't know that. i will soon though =/

anyway, i found something interesting... i took out my battery and set the phone and battery outside (screened in porch) for 4 hours while i was at work. i got back just now and popped the battery back in. previously, the only response i got outta the thing was the led behind the call end button lighting up. now, it started blinking. so i tried powering the phone on out of hope and it worked! the splash screen came up, the bootup sound played, and right before i saw the home screen, a little jingle played and it shut off. i haven't been able to get it to work since. strange..

I dropped my mogul in the water and it wouldnt power up either. Then when it dried out it did the same as you described and shut down before getting running. I took the battery out put it on top of my dash in the car, cranked the heat and fan on the defrost for the windshield, got it hot for about 20 mins. After the second time of doing that I could it get it to power up, but the keyboard never worked I took it back got a new one at no cost. Hopefully you can do the same and flash back to stock.

Is the battery dead maybe? I don't have my TP yet so I don't know if it does that on startup with a dead battery, but it'd be worth a try. Also, make sure the terminals of the battery and the SD card are clean (The gold contact points) because water will often leave residue on those parts.

Hope that helps, good luck.
