Personally I have never used a BB, but I haven't heard a whole lot of great things about them

I just got the Palm Pro 850 and also use the BB 8330 Curve on another number. I LOVE the Blackberry and having a hard time switching to the Pro. Just using this device over the last 2 days, it is a HUGE improvement over the HTC Diamond or Pro.

All my co-workers are using the Curve and we see little issues with Blackberry compared to Windows phones.

To each his own... But I do think that the Pro is the best Windows device so far released! It has not reset or needed a reboot at all yet!

Uhm,, this is not a phone........

you do and must backup..

I mean you do back up your computer/laptop right? or do you just gripe at dell because your computer ran slow and you formatted and lost all of your stuff...

this device is a pda with a phone built in,,,

and htc has nothing to do with these problems,,, the web problem is probably just a settings problem, or a carrier problem,, or a problem with the rom you flashed,,,

running slow? that all depends on how much stuff you have loaded tsr.. (terminate stay resident) like bootup proggies that stay running in the background... also another factor is heat,, if you keep this in your pocket it might be getting warm thus maybe slowing it down a bit...

if your having problems with the keyboard other than it lagging from time to time,, it may be a hardware problem, thus take it back and exchange it,, other than that make sure you click your finger in the text entry field before you start typing otherwise it wont type squat...

the 6700 was a great device,, and the tp is not any different,, just a few hardware upgrades and a better screen,

if you dont like windows mobile devices then by all means switch, but to be honest,,, if you go rim,, youll probably be unhappy,,, not much fun stuff to hack on a rim.. lol or you could get an iphone.. bwahh ha ha.. sorry had to throw that one in there...

anywhoo,, sorry not bashing you,, just putting in my 2 cents worth

Its like I already said , it appears there are fewer issues with BlackBerry Devices because there is less to go wrong , IE they do alot less in the firstplace. I own both, several WinMobile devices and a couple of BlackBerrys and its all a matter of personal preference. Neither one trumps the other, it just matters what you plan on being able to do with them on a daily basis.

The grass is always greener my man.

I look at it this way. The Touch Pro is a Harley. It doesn't have the best ride, get the best gas mileage, crap falls off of it on a ride, but man is it cool.

The Blackberry is like one of those Honda touring bikes. It gets you around, and is reliable, but it's pretty boring.

Man, you hit it right on head.....
Damn dude, I disagree! 1st of all, this is my ride:

http://ghettobsd.org/ppc/bike%2001-17-08.JPG

2nd of all, harleys are the worst bikes you can buy. Here's my irrefutable proof: on my way to laughin, all the road kings were stranded on the side of the road because they'd die and then their ignitions went out.

QC on harley's are horrible!

The reason japanese bikes get a bad rep is because they have "small engine sizes." Get a honda 1800 and then complain. Ride their rune and complain. Not boring at all. The problem with all bikes are the bolt on accessories.

I get all kinds of dudes on harley's come up to me and be like "what kind of harley is that?" They're only posers who don't know about bikes.

I'm also a 1% so that's why i can say what i say and actually be honest about it. The only guys who ride everyday to work with me are those on sports bikes, the harley guys are only fair weather riders or weekend warriors.

ANYHOW, the BB is just a trend while PPC's are more practicle.

TRENDY = pop music, all kinds of people like it because others think they like it

Practicle = something that works for you and lets you customize it how you like it.

Our phones might not be perfect, but how much free opensource software can you get on BB's or iphones? How many of their programs have community backed forums?

Someone once compared my bike to a fat chick, "you can have a lot of fun with them but don't want to be caught on one." Well, sometimes fat chicks can do more than others because they know it's far and few between riders! haahha :P

Case and point. Again my issues (as I posted already but you did not read) were not overloading the phone (unless installing google maps and shazam ONLY) is overloading the phone. Also I ALWAYS CLOSE programs dont leave them running in the background.

They keyboard was a hardware issue (man why didnt I think to click in the text field? DOH? seriously?)

I also hadnt even flashed a rom on the 2nd one.

But thanks for your .02 :)

Man I feel for you, but don't give up on the TP. Have had Crackberries at work, their speakers and volume are great but they have alot of their own issues to. Like this past year when a big part of the RIM system went down. Alot of Crackberries went down. Also you didn't state when you took your TP in for repair I hope you flashed back to a stock rom. Cause if not then you are very lucky they gave you another TP/

Broken,

I would not consider the Pearl if you are looking at a new device. The pearl is on its way out old technology. I would look at the 8300' series or wait for the new 8900 to hit Sprint/Nextel. I carry both BB and WinMo device and there are good and bad with both. I have the Storm and it is not a GREAT device. I am looking at the TP or the i910, have not decided which one to pull the trigger on.

Which Pearl does Nextel have? I know they got a new version of the pearl that is different from the "Sprint" version.

So far so good, my THIRD TP is doing much better than the previous two. I have not done anything to it. I just installed a few programs.
