Asurion to raise deductible to $150

To those of you saying they are going to cancel, what good is a warranty for a lost/liquid damaged/physically damaged phone?

Sprint users only:

Uhh people PEOPLE, stop using Asurion! Just bring it to a Sprint store.
TEP will replace the phone w/ out extra charge.

Asurion is meant to be a last resort method that the store recommends if they do nt cover that type of damage or if you aren't located near a Sprint repair store.

Remeber TEP($4) is 1 of 2 parts (Asurion($3) to the insurance on the phone...

I remeber I used Asurion in a situation where the Sprint store TEP would've done the same.

At 100$ deductible and another 3-4$ a month premium, its more worth it to buy another phone used on ebay than it is to replace it with a refurbed phone from Asurion. Not to mention the value of the insurance is only the expected risk of losing/liquid damaged phone times the value of the phone. I've had insurance for several years now over many phones and never used it once, only the extended warranty part. In all likelihood, I will never need insurance, so why continue to cough up the premium, if I can do fine without it and still be able to get a used phone for only a bit more, if in fact I ever do lose it, however small that chance.

Yeah I got the pamphlet last week. And wouldnt you know it??? My TP breaks yesterday. I only had to $50. But the guys in the Sprint Store told me I could get a new one Assurion for $50 or pay $119 in the store. So what if you deceide to repalce in the store now? Are thye going up in price too?

Hmmm... I don't have insurance. But my [almost] year old Touch was really busted so I called up Sprint last week to get warranty contact info, and they just offered to send a refurbished Touch free of charge as a replacement.

I got it yesterday, it's actually a brand new phone in the retail box.
