You can have your phone replaced under warranty for the chrome chipping off. It is a known manufacturing defect on some of the Touch Pro produced during Oct, Nov, and possibly Dec. So if you have this issue take the phone back in for a replacement.

Re: Bulge under HTC logo on front fascia

I have the same thing on mine Right under the Verizon ... LOL, actually I returned my first touch pro because of this as well. Second one had the same thing, so I assume it is normal. (I was worried about dust getting under the screen)

What is this, the "white spot" of the TP? BTW, mine has it too.

Same little indent here too. Seems steady across the board.

It must be a dominant gene...

Re: Bulge under HTC logo on front fascia

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like this is pretty common. A good image of the issue is here:

Does anyone have a Pro that does NOT have the problem?

I wonder if this affects the Diamond too.

I have three TPs -- the first one (with a 28-Oct-2008 build date) does not have this bulge, or any cosmetic or functional issue except for dead keyboard lighting circuitry. The other two have 25-Dec-2008 and 26-Dec-2008 build dates, and they do indeed have this bulge and quite a few other build quality/materials issues.

If you're akin to trying this type of fix, pressing squarely on the bulge area with a bit of controlled pressure helped smooth it some for me (of course, YMMV -- and please don't overdo the pressure and break your phone!) Similarly, doing the same with the raised home key also made it far more flush with the rest of the phone (and the key is much more responsive now). You might want to try these suggestions before exchanging it and possibly getting a dud.
