Re: Touch Pro Backup Applications/Software

My first post here, I think! My method, due to the fact that I'm constantly flashing is simply to copy my pim.vol file on to my internal memory everyday couple of days or before flashing. After flashing, simply copy the pim file from your internal memory, go to the pim file in the root-put a letter in front of it (Rename it). Paste the other pim file and reboot. Takes 30 secs (apart from the reboot), but it's so safe!

PS I got this tip roughly from somebody else a couple of years back. So, thank you, whoever you are!

It's in your phone's root directory aka My Device. You can see it as "pim" even if you do not select "show all files in file explorer.

btw - I got my MS MyPhone registration link within 48hrs of getting on the waiting list: Free 200Mb space for syncing cause it's beta. Not one problem yet. I prefer using this, even more than the once-free Mail2web exchange server, because messing with WinMo's database/.vol files always ended up in my phone reading those .vol much much slower.
Your method does sound reasonable though. I'm guessing alot of my issues with stuff like this came from the hooks into the filesystem getting wonky cause I used to use "File System Filter Cache"
Either way they are probably faster than PIMbackup. I never liked how that program slowed my phone to a crawl after restoring these types of files.
Thanks!
