Looking for a program...

Hello,

On the Iphone commercials, theres a program, where you hold it up to the radio, and it can find out what song it is. Is there one that we can use for the touch pro?

Since when is it illegal to name a program? Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't really see the wrongness (is that a word?) of naming the software. It is a program someone is able to buy and use on their phones...

The program is call musicID.

The program is call musicID.

It is from a carrier and not for resale.

09/02/08 - ZERO-TOLERANCE REMINDERS

This is a reminder that this website has a ZERO-TOLERANCE policy on posting warez, asking for warez, or anything related to warez.

Since ESN cloning is also illegal, we also have a ZERO-TOLERANCE policy on posting cloning instructions, asking about cloning, or anything related to cloning.

You WILL be banned if you post anything about warez (keygens, serials, cracks, anything about getting paid software for free) or ESN cloning.

the correct saying would be "see whats wrong about it"
and its wrong because the people that set the regulations dont want to be liable for passing illegal content.

+1 I wouldn't even say the name. In fact they should cover it up like they do with curse words...lol

While I think not even being able to speak the name of the application is a bit dramatic, (like Volde....uh....He who shall not be named...). I agree that it shouldn't be linked to or hosted from this website.

Having said that...as far as I know...MusicID was created for AT&T WinMo phones and was tweaked by some clever XDA devs to work on all WinMo phones....there is a feature that will link you to AT&T's music store once it finds the song so that you can purchase it....if you dont have AT&T that link just doesnt work. If you have AT&T, you might be able to get it free...I have no idea...I've never had AT&T.

If you want it bad enough..you'll find it...but be warned...dont ask any other questions on PPCGeeks about it (ie - how to find, install, or use it)...You risk a flame war and worse...the ban hammer!

Honestly guys, its really not that big of an issue. If any of you who said this is illegal warez etc... actually looked instead of posting you would have found a service called shazam. Its bascially a system that you dial a number while listening to the music, hold your phone up to the soundtrack and it texts you with the title and artist. http://www.shazam.com/music/web/pages/2580.html

Its been out since Windows 5.0 so its not a new idea. Its not here in the US yet but I'm sure theres some sort of alternative.
