Arcsoft MMS 5.0.69.44 for sprint CAB. Works on stock ROM
 

Ok, Here is Arcsoft MMS 5.0.69.44 for sprint. I also made it so that it removes Sprint picturemail when you install it. Note, It will delete the picturemails on your phone, but you can still go online and get them through the website, and even forward them to yourself if you want them on your phone again.

The default is 512k sending limit, and 10 meg d/l limit. I removed the limit for editing the server setting. Now you can edit the sprint server, and change the limit there in the app without having to do any regedits. You can select 512k (For compatibility with other carriers), 1 meg, and 5 meg.

Notice: Sprints MMS servers have been slow lately. If it takes an hour or two for someone to get your MMS, it is on Sprints side, not Arcsoft.


I was inspired by KillerQ to make this. Without him, I wouldn't of known it was possible to install Arcsoft on a stock ROM. That and since I run custom, I wouldn't of noticed :)

Wow man, great stuff! This solved my mms problem completely, I could receive some things, but couldn't send properly. (I'm on MightyROM 4.11, btw) ... and this works PERFECT. Thanks!

Backup your phone with Sprite backup, Then try this. If you don't like it, then go back. No harm, no faul. That is what I did to make this cab.

Arcsoft for sure. Sprint MMS is slow and unresponsive..... and smms is just a little better than it.

Arcsoft is a fully integrated MMS package

This fix just still kills the option to set up new emails right?

I don't miss it since I don't really check my email right now on the TP but I can pretty much remove the email tab now? It's just taking up tab space on my TP...

Arcsoft is ok, but the videos in receive or send mode shows real small as a thumbnail view, unless there's a setting I'm missing to allow videos to show larger, also there's a cab to allow 2 and 5 mb upload with this proggy

Can you or anyone tell me what exactly the picture\video settings are supposed to be? I'm using sprint and for some reason, my picture messages may take like 10 to 15 to get there even when I send some to myself. Under server settings mine is set to sprint, under sprint tab the settings are 80 as the port number, server address is 63.215.195.152/servlets/mms and connect via is sent to internet, now I've tried this setting at network also which someone suggested, but it didn't seem to make a difference. BTW, my message limit is 5000k and I'm using ver 5.0.69.44. Any help would be appreciated.

That is because sometimes Sprints mms servers are slow. There was a period of like 2 hours lastnight where it seemed like it was down, but the pics eventually came. Had nothing to do with arcsoft.

Ive found that if I save the videos, then I can play them full screen with windows media player.

You don't need a different cab. Just go into pix/vid optiond, select servers, tap Sprint, and under send limit you can select 500k, 1000k, or 5000k. I defaulted to 500k, bacause providers like Verizon dont seem to deliver MMS's that are larger than that.

Yeah, I kinda fingered it was sprint and not archsoft, just wanted to make sure..Thanks for verifying that, because its not like I don't get them, but some I get in a few minutes so take longer and at first I thought it was because the sizes of the pictures, but it makes sense its another sprint issue.

LOL.

MMS isn't as fast as SMS with any carrier. The servers have a lot more to process than just 160 Characters. They have to send and receive vast amounts of data among millions of users, and then send a SMS to the other phones to signal them to download the messages. So when there is a lot of traffic, things go in a que, and are deleyed. When the servers arent all that busy, then it is only like 10 seconds.

Sprint could always add more servers to speed up the process.

So I just installed this and now I notice some text obscuring my battery icon. It looks like it says "2/2" or something of the sort. Hard to read it. Anyone knows what that is?

wdaniels2007, I have Connect via: set to Sprint...so far its really fast. For Photo resolution: I have it set to VGA(640X480), this setting was good when I downloaded pics and also was faster when sending vs a higher pic res. I haven't sent vids yet.

Btw, I already added my email accounts before I installed arcsoft, but Im able to add another email account to outlook. Thanks again jaminmc and great job!

You are correct, this application sends pictures and videos at light speed, man, now it would be awesome, if the sending and receiving speeds are like this all the time, yeah....:headbang::headbang::headbang:

Yeah, I don't seem to have sprint in the connect via section, I have network, internet, my isp, wap network etc...I have it on network..I mean it works, but sometimes its fast and sometimes it's slow, but as jarminc said..its on sprints end. Thanks for the info guys..

I see no new app in the Start Menu and no new email account in Email. Where am I supposed to access this app?

Using RSTG's rom that has sprint pic mail cooked in already, tried your cab but it says it cant be installed becuz it doesn't have sufficent permisson. Is there anyway around this?

Maybe not. RSTG's rom cooks it into the rom, and therefore makes it impossible to delete the files. (I think).

Here, I made a version of the cab that doesn't delete the files, but removes all the reg entries, and MMS email account.

Let me know if it works.

Just go to your text message inbox, and hit the menu soft button. Then select "Pics/Video Options..."

Then you can mess with the settings.
