Over 10k text messages, need to delete them but cant.
 

Ok, so I realized that my phone is running slower by the day because I text so much and have over 10k texts in my phone. When I try and delete them all via the phone, it locks up after awhile. Is there any way I can use active sync and delete them via my PC? What directory would I look in? Thanks so much

Wow 10k, I only have 3k and that takes long enough to backup.

Use PIMbackup

There is an option to clear the database if you run through the options while restoring a backup. Try creating an empty backup and restoring it. It should clear it faster than deleting them through pocket outlook.

where do u go to check how many texts u have...i cant seem to find the amount on mine

u can try the pim method, i used to get this high on txts, because it alot harder to realize u have that many when using threaded...

i would have to just do portions at a time cuz your right, it freezes up... ive even hard reset(really no faster easier way than this lol) to get rid of em a few times... id rather spend a half hr-40min reinstalling cabs and settings than deleting txt messages ya know lol

It doesn't lock up, it just takes a long long time to empty.

I've had the same problem and have waited almost 30 minutes for it to actually empty the inbox. You've gotta be patient. Like empty them when you are going to sleep.

shoot, I just leave my texts in.
i just switch from threaded to classic and it feels smoother.
