Trouble Loading Roms
 

Ok, ive tried different comps so i know its the phone. When i try to load roms(ive tried several), the phone goes into the boot loader(the red green n some other color) it will flash a screen for like a split second(the screen says loading at the top, and something at the bottom which i never can catch) then it goes back to the boot loader for like a minute, and then goes to the screen with the progress bar. After this point it sits for like a minute or two, then the comp says it "encountered communication errors during the update process" and the phone just stays on the progress bar screen at 0%. At this point i can simply soft reset and im cool, i just cant load roms. Any suggestions?

Did you unlock the phone?

+1 when i first flashed i kinda forgot to unlock and kept on failing , once its unlocked, flashing becomes just as easy as backing up your info. good luck

i cant unlock it, it does the same thing, i am trying to change the.25 spl thing to .37 with instruction from this post http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42503, still no luck

You may be having some activesync issues. Try loading the files to the SD card:


Flash from microSD Card (Thanks to MadlyAlive):

1. Make sure you backup anything that is necessary to your day to day operations! At a minimum, please perform an ActiveSync to Outlook or your Exchange server prior to flashing!
2. Rename the custom ROM NBH file from RUU_Signed.nbh to RAPHIMG.nbh
3. Copy RAPHIMG.nbh to the root of your microSD Card.
4. Hold the Volume Down and Power button simultaneously. While you're still holding those 2 buttons, press the reset button with your stylus.
5. When your Touch Pro tells you to do so, press the power button to begin the flash process. If you do not get the message to press the power button to flash, there is a mistake in the name of the NBH file or you do not have the file at the root of your microSD card.
6. When flashing is complete, perform a soft reset.

I had the same issue...haven't tried the MicroSD Card format...All that would load is the stock Sprint ROM, using activesync.

Also...try a different USB cable...any old micro USB cable will work.

You'd be suprised how many bad USB cables I've seen in my line of work...

If that doesnt work, I'd exchange it. True, you could flash from the MicroSD directly....but I for one would be very agitated if my USB port didnt work.

I don't think its your activesync settings...if it were, it wouldn't let you get to the progress bar in the first place.

My bet is on the cable or the USB port on your phone.

PS - Are you trying it on Vista computers? Work computers? You need Admin rights on whatever PC your flashing on. If your on Vista, right click the file and select Run as admin.

this happend to me when i had my touch and i had to uninstall activesync then reinstall it...took care of my problem...might be worth a shot?
