Did you find any of the folders at all?? I apologize for not remembering where the 5 or 6 i deleted were but if you really want it gone, just go through each folder and everything that says voicecommand delete it.

This is why I use my vogue headphones plus they let you control the volume too. I love VC but it can be annoying sometimes.

FYI, recent studies have shown that using a hands free device while driving is worse than simply holding the phone. It has to do with how you view what is going on around you and your mental involvement in the call. It seems that holding the phone makes you more aware of the fact that you are doing something other than driving, where as a hands free device makes you more comfortable and more likely to become more involved in the conversation and less aware of what is going on around you.

Not trying to be a troll, just thought I would mention it since it was just recently mentioned to me and I dont think many realize it. Plus, mentioning it might make people more aware of it.

but we must keep in mind this is based on a small number of people, not all of us are the same, and not all of us are willing to get into an in-depth conversation while driving (I'm certainly not), many of us just need to be able to in case theres another errand to run or something quick to be alerted about. We're not all the same...

I would imagine if you just use resco to rename the voice command .exe in the windows folder that would probably do the job

WOW, I guess we shouldn't talk to the person riding shotgun either then............

I also hated VC, after it dialed the wrong number three or four times (when I wasn't trying to call anybody) I couldn't wait to dump it.

I cooked a new ROM & didn't include VC & the problem was solved.

Re: Must KILL VOICE COMMAND!!

I don't hate VC nor do I love it. However, I have never accidentally activated it. I sometimes use the headphones that came with it to listen to music. But while driving I use my bluetooth headset. I just recently discovered that holding down the talk button activates VC. I forget where I read that (not on PPC geeks). The reason I don't love the program because it doesn't always recognize my commands it will say "Please Repeat" I do and it still doesn't. Aside from that happening occassionally I actually think it is a good program that offers more than just calling people in your contacts.

As for what to do to disable it. I agree with all of the suggestions here. Maybe although I doubt it Microsoft may have a KB on removing it. Check their site for any instructions or check out the Total Access for Microsoft users another poster might have the same issue and a MS rep may have responded with a solution.

Is the voice command icon still there in the settings? After i soft reset once or twice it just stopped working, i can't activate it to save my life. I also used total commander to attempt to delete it and also to try and rename the .exe file, although it didn't let me do it i'm starting to think that played a part in why it doesn't work anymore. Try to soft reset a couple times and try to re-activate it, there are about 8-10 voice command folders i believe in the registry so make sure they're all gone and then use total commander to try edit the .exe file and see if that helps, it never let me do it but like i said, i think it helped to kill it. Let me know.

EDIT

Just for further confirmation i attempted to use voice command with my bluetooth headset as well and it wouldn't do anything. To elaborate on what to do with total commander, find the exe file in the windows folder, make sure it's not set to "read-only" anymore, then attempt to rename and delete it. Guarantee i don't have voice command anymore.
