Error when trying to send email
 

I have tried the "official fix" through microsoft, the TnMfix_PPC and both at the same time. Nothing seems to work. Still can't send email. Any other fixes?? Thanks

What type of account do you have setup? Do you have your mail servers set correctly?

Another thing to consider, many ISP's either will NOT let you send mail thru their servers, from an outside connection. If they do, you usually have to use a specific port(usually 465 or 587) and you must log into their servers in order to send.

In my case, good ole Charter just doesn't bother and doesn't allow outside connections to send, period.

Its a yahoo account. It had previously worked on my Mogul with 6.1. It automatically got the settings just like with my mogul. When I first got the phone i'm almost positive it worked too.

I have Roadrunner, and my email was working fine for months. Today, out of the blue, my email now doesn't work right. I can no longer send emails from my roadrunner account on my phone. I was able to send one on my way to work this morning, but, by the afternoon, it would no longer send. Now, I get an error...something about I should check my account information, or my network coverage. I called Sprint, and they told me to delete my roadrunner account off my phone, and then set it up again. I have done that, and set up my servers correctly, I believe, but now I can't even connect to get my emails sent to my phone.

Absolutely ridiculous.

yahoo settings:
incomng mail server- imap.mail.yahoo.com
outgoing mail server- smtp.mobile.yahoo.com
-check BOTH outgoing server requires authent. and use same user name and pass word
advanced server setting.. UNCHECK(if checked) require ssl for incoming/outgoing boxes
-network connection should be "the internet"

then set up your own schedule and all that stuff and should be good to go

Any ideas for roadrunner? I talked with one rep who told me to use smtp-server.roadrunner.com for the outgoing...then I talked to a different rep who said that I had to use Sprint's stmp for the outgoing. Of course, if I use the Sprint stmp, then I think that I have to figure out my powervision login and pword, cause after picking the outgoing server, you have to put in a username and pword.

I also have RR, and have to use VZW's SMTP server for out bound mail, so that second rep you spoke with was correct. You'll have to get whatever login info you use for Sprint login when setup asks for outbound settings.

While I think sprints smtp server still works, I wouldn't count on it for too much longer. I believe they said it would be discontinued at the end of December of last year. However I think it still exists and functions.
