Re: Random Turn On
right, the switch is either a normally closed, or normally open circuit, so the best way to check if it's going bad (loose connection, ect..) is to see if there's an issue when the switch is in the opposite position (ie. stylus out)

Re: Random Turn On
There is no issue like that. I temporarily fixed it by simply reinserting it last night, but i dont want it to do this during school, not to mention i have no use for that sensor. thats why i want it disabled.

ive read about stylist probs from alot of Pro users..i thought u guys wanted touch screen phones, whys everyone use their stylist so much?? mines been out 2x and that was just to notice its a magnet holding it in there.. sorry i couldnt help.. |
Re: Random Turn On
Here's a link to info on the registry keys that deal with the stylus status. Not sure if changing them will have any effect as they are being driven by the switch status. The source code and API's are there if you want to dabble in trying to write your own app :-)

Re: Random Turn On
i still say if its broken either use TEP and get it repaired or just finnish it off. when my switch started to go loopy it fell out on its own on my last TP so that was simple.

Re: Random Turn On
I to have started getting this and it is the stylus switch. Barely wiggle the stylus or press on the side of the phone and it turns on. Very annoying!

Re: Random Turn On
I found the quickest fix for this is aluminum tape.
Not Duct or "Duck" tape, but actual aluminum tape. It is a thick piece of aluminum foil with adhesive. You can get it at Lowe's and such... Anyways I cut a small square of it ind worked it in over the switch and disabled it without doing any permanent damage. |

Re: Random Turn On
$9.95?
That was for a HUGE roll at Lowes.... I use it for all kinds of stuff around the house. It is not a one-trick-pony... |

If you didn't know about notifications already then you probably have never written an alarm program in c+++ for your phone.. :-) |
