Calendar Question

I was just wondering how much time in advance does your event show on the today screen? I had 2 events planned for today separated by about 2 hours, but yesterday it only showed one on the today screen, I thought that was kind of weird. And I have a event planned today at 11:59pm and it's 12:30am right now for me, but no event in the today screen. Is this customizable?
