Major TF3D Problems - NEED HELP!

I been tweaking TF3D here and through different cabs found here and on XDA. Well, I realized that I have alot of TF3D cabs installed: No Curtains, Glass Flip Clock, No Dotted Lines, etc... The problem I think when I'm tryiong to creat new Themes to use on my TP is that I keep installing these cabs which TF3D and then when I installed a new cab is changes TF3D again.

One of those cabs I installed added the Animation back to TF3D. Thus changing my version of the stock Sprint TF3D to the HTC 1.01.1630. ver of TF3D. The problem now is that I cant the orginal TF3D back. I have severarl cabs I cant sompletley uninstalled:
1. NisseDIFLLGA No Curtains
2.Prophecy Glass Clock
3.NisseDIFLLGA Sprint Fluip Clock.

and a few more. I cant uninstall them. I'vedone aHard Reset and that restores the Orginal TF3D, but I have some progams that are a PIA to get the codes from the manufactures for. So I dont wanna just start resintalling programs yet. I would much rather use SPB Backup and restore one of my backs but not change TF3D to the old HTC Ver that I think is causing the problems.

What can I do? Is there some other way to uninstall cabs?

Thanks

Re: Major TF3D Problems - NEED HELP!

Absolutely correct Darren. Because of the issues with not being able to fully uninstall the notopcurtain.cab glassclock.cab I have recently switched to OMJ's Manila Customizer as it has the flip clok (glass), the no curtains (top and bottom) already in it. Then I just revert back to "rom default" when I screw something up (and I do quite often) and build it back up.

But either one will do the trick for you... and will not make you have to do a hard reset to fix TF3D.

Can you post the program in a Zip file? FTP is blocked here at work.

I'm not sure if this would work but you could try getting you backed up version up, then installing the stock sprint theme in TF3D config. The theme can be found here...

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=419799

That should at least get you back to where you started, but with your backup of all your other programs you need a password for.

Send you the PM next.

Sprint TV works ok from the programs menu. Its the tab in TF3D that is the problem. It has no icons on it. Just the icon at the bottom for Sprint TV and it says Sprint TV at the top, but no shortcut to the program. So everytime I click that tab or the tab next to it, TF3D locks up.

would reisntalling the cab, bring back the link in TF3D?

I can't post it here because it is too big (15.1 MB), so I threw it up on my server. Try this:

http://ppcgeeks.rainfreak.com/apps/O...Customizer.cab

I installed the SprintTV cab and it installs but it gives me an error saying installation was unsuccessful. Still didnt do anything to TF3D. I tried using SPB Backup to install all of my programs except TF3D after the Hard Reset and it still install this crazy version again. I uncheck TF3D in the Windows folder and it still reinstalled it. Is there another plae it could be isntalled?

I wonder if I could tell it not to resintall the cab files?

you weren't kidding. This is a big file.

Re: Major TF3D Problems - NEED HELP!

Yeah, it takes up over 22 MB installed... but it does not cause any issues with TF3D and it has everything that I want in one place... so I trade off space for stability.

Damn... maybe one more hard reset, then use Manila Customizer to make the changes you want... which should get you what you want from manila and none of the headaches from the changes?

Otherwise, I don't know...

yeah, I know the Hard Reset gets me back to stock. I did it earlier today. The problem is restoring contacts and programs. I have two programs that are a MUST for my phone. The problem is that , when you reinstall them for some reason you get new USER ID's and have to get the new app codes from the manufactures, who are horrible at giving you the new code. They dont answer emails and then you gotta prove when you bought the product, etc.... PIA if you feel me. If I can get SPB Backup to reinstall everything but TF3D, I would be good.

rainfreak 02-02-2009 07:09 PM

Re: Major TF3D Problems - NEED HELP!

Yeah, I feel you. But I have to say that I too have found that when you tell spb Backup to not restore something, it still does from time to time. You may have to do another hard reset to get TF3D to work correctly.

Exactly what is it that you wanted form TF3D that was not working? Maybe I have found another way to get exactly what you want without the ill effects. And if I haven't, I will certainly try to help you find a better way.

Re: Major TF3D Problems - NEED HELP!

You could try to reflash the rom (stock or otherwise) from the sd card:

Flash from microSD Card (Thanks to MadlyAlive):

1. Make sure you backup anything that is necessary to your day to day operations! At a minimum, please perform an ActiveSync to Outlook or your Exchange server prior to flashing!
2. Rename the custom ROM NBH file from RUU_Signed.nbh to RAPHIMG.nbh
3. Copy RAPHIMG.nbh to the root of your microSD Card.
4. Hold the Volume Down and Power button simultaneously. While you're still holding those 2 buttons, press the reset button with your stylus.
5. When your Touch Pro tells you to do so, press the power button to begin the flash process. If you do not get the message to press the power button to flash, there is a mistake in the name of the NBH file or you do not have the file at the root of your microSD card.
6. When flashing is complete, perform a soft reset.

Full article including the needed RUU can be found here.

Also, if you can get it into bootloader, you can plug it into the PC and reflash the rom of your choice...
