Sprite Backup Error

i have used sprite backup for few days now with no problems. i was messing around with some stuff today, (nothing big at all) and wanted to restore to the most recent backup. i went to the file like normal, clicked it, and this is the message i get. The file 'Backup_2009-01-29' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.

here is exactly what i have done with the phone from last night till now.

last night - went to settings folder, went to "about", changed device name.

today - performed sprite backup.
- downloaded PHM reg edit prog to PC, synced phone to PC, followed install instructions, checked phone to play with editor and didnt see it anywhere, soft reset, still nothing anywhere that i could tell, got scared and decided i didnt really need to mess with reg edits anyways for what i use phone for and wanted to just restore to last backup I JUST MADE and forget it even happened. and here we are with my problem.

why why why? i have 5 backups on phone memory card and they each say the same thing. how can this be fixed? why did this happen?

just did another sprite backup to try something and it succesfully created like its been doing. just tried to restore to that backup and still same problem.

this is not good.

might sound crazy, but do u have pocket rar?? tested, apparently, that doesnt work with sprite backup.

i duplicated that error u spoke of. dont take this in wrong, but did u go in to start/programs/sprite backup then choose to restore?
now as far as pocket rar goes, i would dload it anyway
go here dload it to PC. if u have any troubles or whatever, just PM me. its real easy to use after u use it once.
pocket rar wouldnt fix this issue, i misunderstood what u were saying earlier, but its good to have on ur device

no. i try to click the file in the storage card like i was used to with spb.

In theory, everything should work fine.

That doesn't always happen in exactly that way however.

ok so i lucked out for now. i was able to get it back to the most recent backup i made and everything "seems" to be running fine. any reason why i have to go into sprite program then restore through there instead of clicking the backup itself in storage card? i could have sworn it has worked that way before for me. anyways. sorry for all the postings. i flipped out for a couple seconds and just typed first things i was thinking in new posts. thanks for help though

yea, i remember doing that once, then having to restore from the sprite backup program from then on out. its a glitch in the matrix. it never should've worked the other way, but it did. glad to cee u got it fixed. as long as u back to square one. chop it up as a learning experience and off to the next project IMO..lol

Something else "stole" the file association for sprite backup files - it's not a big deal, just always use the app itself to restore the backup.
