Wifi vs Data
 

What uses more power? Using wifi or your data connection? Both are about the same speed in my apt. Full evdo service, and full signal to the router, so has anyone tested what would drain the battery faster?

I have tested it actually a few weeks ago. WiFi drains the battery significantly faster than using your data connection.

Idk man, just don't use both, WMWifiRouter drained my battery in like 30mins

This may seem retarded, but how many people use the Wifi? I would think that cell service is more readily available than wifi access points, and if it drains the battery faster, than why use it? I think the only time I've used it is if I was talking on the phone and wanted to watch Youtube or post on PPCGEEKS.com at the same time....

Well I live in a spotty area where I have to force roaming so I use wifi off my router while at home. Once I get down the street, I get great sprint coverage and evdo lol, 1/4 mile from my house =/

Well Hotsauce, im not trying to flame ya, but that post was completely pointless to this thread. No crap that if you don't have data you'd use wifi. lol.

Agreed. No data plan? Isn't that like having a car with no gas?

I use Wi-Fi when I'm at home. My charger is easily available, and it's much faster than EVDO.

I can usually get most of the day with data only but wifi can drain me all the way down in an hour.
