You're right, you do get what you pay for. I pay $100 for 2 lines 1500 minutes, unlimited everything, data, tv, navigation, the works....and guess what...that's what I get :-P |
Re: Wifi vs Data
to answer the OP's question -- Wifi drains my battery significantly compared to my data plan. but i use it at home if i'm skyping or on the phone and want to check email at the same time.
i'm saving money with sprint, but the network coverage isn't as good as verizon -- that being said, i have a lot more phone/features for the monthly costs -- i'm saving about $100/month |
Re: Wifi vs Data
Yeah I never understood how people got iPhones and just stuck to using WiFi. Its pretty lame to get one just to show it off if you can't even use it how its meant to be used...
But most people who have PPCs and Blackberries have data plans. |

If your battery is getting drained all the way down with wifi on in less than an hour then something must be wrong. Once I get to school I turn on my wifi and it should last me till I get home. Granted, I am not using it all day. I will surf the internet while I am bored in class or during lunch, but I average about 1-1.5 hr of internet usage with both the data and wifi on. This is comboed with my crappy reception in the classroom. I can still go from 8-5 and be at about 20% battery. Not that great, but it isn't horrible like the people above. Maybe your rom is not battery friendly. Try Merdin's. His rom has a huge difference in battery life and played the largest role for me. Good luck. |

Re: Wifi vs Data
I would definitely take data off, if it wasn't because I get it free. I just couldn't afford it, plane and simple. That's a sacrifice I'm willing to make. So many more things to do with this phone. Lol... a car with no gas. that's funny but in my case that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make and to me it wouldn't be no gas, but maybe no a/c.
Gas would be equal to battery...lol |
Re: Wifi vs Data
:banghead: Holy Christ, Mods, please close thread as this is no where near the original topic.
If you want to create a thread and argue about different plans and carriers, do it on your :cussing: own. If you have an actual answer for the question, then make ur post. Thanks again to everyone who answered my question. I agree that if you are actively downloading, wifi uses less battery. |
Re: Wifi vs Data
I do have to agree. NExt time, please stay on topic people. Closed.
