Re: Mobile Banking
Splash Money works for my bank. The instructions say to enable quicken access to your account which requires a call to the banks support site. The customer rep told me that the server would not allow access through a GSM connection. After explaining to him that sprint is CDMA and CDMA v GSM makes no difference because the ip protocol is identical, i asked him to turn it on anyway. He refused. I just logged in using my online banking password and it worked.

It's extremely difficult to intercept digital cellular transmissions in a usable form. And even if someone did... it wouldn't matter because everything is SSL encrypted.

That's what I was thinking. I wouldn't think that banks would be part of mobile banking if there wasn't any kind of security!! Most major banks now do it, and lots of stock traders are doing mobile trades!! |

Re: Mobile Banking
ok, i don't know about about fred durst and obama, but paris hilton's account was hacked because her password was her dog's name (she isn't exactly the brightest bulb), and that doesn't prove that cdma/gsm internet connections aren't secure, it just means that she's a dumbass. i'd say its pretty hard to hack a cellphone. and regardless, if somebody is TARGETTING you, obviously you're either famous, or you've done something to piss off somebody who has a LOT of free time and knowledge, and those really aren't the people that most of us piss off.

Re: Mobile Banking
security starts with you. my bank sites have the option personal/public. if you select public you have an extra security question and the ssl times out faster. I always use "public" even on my desktop @ home.
btw, opera, skyfire, and sms work fine for me.

Re: Mobile Banking
when it comes to "banking on the go" I just use SMS with Chase. Other than checking my balance I can't really think of much use for mobile banking. Maybe the occasional transfer from one of my accounts to another, but if I need to do a transfer I'm usually close enough to a PC that I can just do it via their site.
