slingbox and orb live video quality
 

i've never used orb very much, but i wanted to compare its live tv performance to slingbox on the pro. as background, i've never been completely satisfied with the slingbox performance on the pro. based upon my subjective testing, the live tv video quality from orb was quite a bit better than slingbox. this is actually a hopeful result, since it suggests that the slingplayer software has further room for optimization.

I have the oppposite view. Slingbox looks much better to me

I should maybe add that I am outputting both from the Pro to a 55" HDTV. On that, there is no comparison, Orb is much better. On a PC using the PC player I would agree that Slingbox is better.

Do you guys have the new SlingBox mobile client 1.6.0.112,:drunken: it's off the chain, but ORb will never/ever match the SlingBox...

Yea, I use the latest client and I have used it with both GDI on and off.

Naw, I just found out the 1.6.0.112 has not been released to the public yet. I will see if I can get permission to post it today...:headbang:

Have you tried Orb outputted from the Pro? I agree that Slingbox is superior when viewed on a PC, but unless my eyes deceive me, Orb produces a better picture with better frame rate when outputted from the Pro.
