Have you tried Orb outputted from the Pro? I agree that Slingbox is superior when viewed on a PC, but unless my eyes deceive me, Orb produces a better picture with better frame rate when outputted from the Pro.

That could be, I actually haven't tried TV from ORB since I had my Titan/Mogul. When I got the SlingBox, it worked so much better for me than ORB that I never used ORB for TV again.

no doubt that slingbox is a quality product. i also find that the quality of the orb tv is very dependent on how i run the source. if i run cable directly into my tv card (without using the cable box), I get very poor tv because of the poor quality of the pc tv tuner. if i run cable into my cable box and then into my tv card, the results are much better.

Re: slingbox and orb live video quality

when you guys talk about orb video are you talking about live tv? I have yet to get orb to work properly using live tv. I stream movies/videos through Kinoma while on Orb and I must say it works great. However, Kinoma doesn't support live TV and trying to watch live TV using ORB through Opera or IE is almost impossible. It rebuffers way too much and looks horrible. Was there some type of update that I don't know about that allows you guys to stream live TV using ORB on your TP? Currently, I use Slingbox for Live TV and it works very well.

Also, is the new SlingPlayer Mobile client version 1.6.0.112 the same client that they have been trying to get approved on the apple iphone app store? I saw a demo of sling's proposed iphone mobile client on youtube and it looked sooooo sweet. Unlike any live TV mobile viewing experience you have ever seen. They said it wouldn't just be for the iphone at the end of their demo and mentioned Windows Mobile.

Thank you for linking the latest Sling. I gave it a try, but I don't really notice any difference.

Yes, I'm talking about using Orb with live tv. It runs in Windows Media Player on the Pro which opens from IE. You need a tuner on the PC end. In my opinion, Sling in general is a better device for live TV but for some reason I seem to get a better frame rate from Orb when outputting from the Pro to a TV.

i believe the quality is also dependent on your upload speeds that your orb/slingbox is connected to

i just watched a basketball game on orb. couldn't have done that on sling because it would have been too choppy.
