Touch Pro - 1/9/09 Build Date

Well, I had Sprint exchange my second launch Touch Pro (swapped once already due to the over-b***** earpiece) which had a mid-October build date yesterday, because the right side of the screen was peeling away from the bezel. It had slowly been getting worse and worse, and I was starting to worry that the screen might let go completely on the right side. Additionally, the hardware nav buttons stuck up quite a bit (over 1mm even with a screen protector on!), and the hardware keyboard's backlight (as all of you know) was terribly inconsistent.

The new phone is amazing. The hardware buttons sit almost flush. The screen is perfectly flush with the bezel. The keyboard backlight is perfectly uniform! Even the slider mechanism seems snappier and more reliable.

If you're on Sprint and have been been holding out for the kinks to get worked out, I would say the time has arrived!

Do you know the build date of your previous TP? It may have been part of the crap batch.

Wow.. Sounds like I need to find $50 dollars and 'lose' my current one...

Better yet: delete registry folders so your phone won't boot. Make sure you're on a stock ROM and take it in for repair.

Ahh.. But I have a small chunk of chrome missing near the top near the speaker...

I saw on another thread that the new builds have yellowish screen. Some have very bad viewing angle. But the screen is more responsive. So I wouldn't jump the gun just yet.

You can change the response times for the screen Azn.. Or the screen sensitivity anyways...

i just got my 4 touch pro and my biuld date is 1-13-09 and i have the rom leak one on it and battery life is terrible at first usage then second round way more better

so, to the OP - what is it that makes them give you a new one and not a refurb?

My TP looks like the right side of the screen will get pushed up and out of the bezel over time. I can already see that it's not truly flat by looking at how the light bounces off of it in the gloss, bugs me..

I really wish I would have gotten one with black instead of chrome, I hate this chrome.

Argh
