Too Much Music

I have somewhere in the neighborhood of about 10GB of music. When I loaded it onto my card, the music player in Touch Flo started responding extremely slow. (about 30seconds to a minute from the time I click on that tab until it loads.) Are there any tweaks or anything at all that I can do to make it not so laggy? I would like to keep using touch flo because I like the way it integrates, but I am more than willing to switch to something else if it would be faster.

I'm sure there are other people out there who have done this. This is with a 16GB card.

I'm sorry - not sure there is a fix for that.

I stopped using that tab cause i kept getting Audio manager errors, so I use the Nitrogen music player.

I've never heard of that, but I'll look into it now. I'll let you know the outcome.

Sounds like you may be using a ROM without "HTC Audio Manager" installed. Including that option in your kitchen selections (or installing it separately, though a cab may be hard to find) should resolve that.

Well, I tried nitrogen. Looks a little plain to me, but works great. No issues whatsoever.

I am using a stock rom and I guess I just figured it came with HTC audio manager.

Lastly, I am using the SD card tweaks from the essentials page, which I think is what you're referencing.

I'll look into the HTC audio manager thing. Maybe I dont have it installed.

I think class speed has a lot to do with this issue. Not to mention that is a lot of music. Although, I have about 6 gb of music on 8gb class 6 card and it's still a little laggy at times. I tried the sd card boost thing but didn't see any improvements.

I'm beginning to think it's the phone that can't keep up..

how you have the music stored on the sd card can make a huge difference too. making sure you have all of it spread across smaller folders can boost performance quite a bit, but you also have to realise that 10gb of music is a huge amount and its trying to store the whole list at once so it will lag when starting out.

Re: Too Much Music

Well its not just an initial lag. Its in the beginning, if I want to look at the library, if I select something from the library. Really anything involving additional access to the card. And yes, they are all in one folder.
