Re: Acer to Hack a Touch Pro

I have a Dell Mini 9 with 2 gigs and a 64 gig solid state hard drive. I love this thing. I tether my Touch Pro with it all the time. You will like the size so much you'll leave the full size notebook at home. With the 4 cell battery, I get right at 4 hours on battery.

I have the Acer Aspite One in BLACK. I've had it since late october and I LOVE IT. I use it all the time while browsing the forums, etc laying in my bed and watchin tv.

The 3 cell battery ISNT so bad. I get 3 hours of battery life on constant use which I find pretty good. I got it for a steal, don't regret it one bit

As a matter of fact, i'm using it as we speak to type this reply ;)

I have the blue aspire one, it's great for use with my pro. I recommend buying one of the mini bluetooth adapters, they're less than $10, then picking up a microsoft bluetooth mouse, and using a program by June Fabrics called PDAnet.

This thing has 3 usb ports, so I only take up one for my mouse and my phone. PDAnet supports WiFi connectivity, usb, and bluetooth and it doesn't do the phone as modem option so you won't incur any additional charges. PDAnet runs like $40 and works way better than anything else.

I've got the Acer Aspire One with a 120 Gb hard drive adn !GB RAM. Love it though I don't tether - Bell Mobility will rape me if I do.
You wont regret the netbook, I leave the laptop at home.

my brother said the acer's materials arent the greatest.

he suggested the HP mini for its durability, or the dell mini.

Netbooks/umpc’s are where it’s at… I can literally wear my vaio uv on my belt if I need to, it's not much bigger than my touch pro, but its a fully functional pc… my 15 incher rarely leaves the house anymore

Glad I went back a few pages in the forum and found this. I just bought the 160G drive 3-cell blue Acer for just the purpose of tethering with the touch pro - well that and it's tiny enough to just throw in my bag.

Do you have the tethering working yet? (I literally haven't even opened the Acer box yet)

Re: Acer to Hack a Touch Pro

oh my god, the Sony UX series man.

I was DEEPLY into the Clie scene not too long ago, started witha TC15c, then bought the TJ-37, and then got the UX-50.

when i first heard of that new sony UX, i was excited that maybe they might bring back the clie, but instead it was a bit buliker, BUT had win xp!

i sold the UX-50 a couple of years ago, and i really really regret it now, thinking the TJ-37 would satisft forever, until the backlight died and parts are hard to find.

luckily HTC saved me and then i got the 6700, then the mogul, and now the Touch Pro.

touch screen PDA's that are very multifunctional and most definitly have been my thing since i was pre teen(got my first palm IIIC, and palm V)

anyways, i got my new ACER Aspire One in blue with the 120GB hard drive. and man, all i can think about now after seeing your UX is my old Clie UX-50
