Yep, that's for people who Roam Only options isn't working
At least it works the long way. I know it's a pain in the butt. But if you really need roaming try that and see if it works.

I also dont know why the force roam cab creates a "roam" button in phone settings but not a "roam only" button............

Maybe thats a problem.

Is there a way to get into a registry and change "roam" to "roam only"

just tried it and its a no go for launch, thanks for helping. At this point I'll try almost anything.....notice I said almost anything for those of you inclined to tell me to put it into water or something like that...lol

BTW it might be worth mentioning that the way I got the roam only option was by installing Good Things 2 Life's cleanup in the sticky thread for this forum. Frankly, I didn't even know that feature was a part of it but was happy when I found it, and it worked for me. I don't know if he implemented it in any different way, perhaps asking him would be a good idea.

I guess we have different problems then, try it one more time, make sure the phone soft resets itself

Yeah go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\InitProv\PhoneSett ing

and change Itamename3 to Roam Only
It's not big deal.

well it worked this time but I dont want to have to do ##778# and go into prl settings everytime I wanna roam. It should work with the cab or reg edits like everyone elses. Thanks for the info though.

hahah I knew it!!!

I know its not very convenient to soft reset every time you want to roam, but at least we have the problem narrowed down. Hopefully someone with some serious windows mobile knowledge will pinpoint the problem for us.
