Also I was wondering how does everyone having the same phone number works?
Of course the rep could've set the options to conditional but it made no sense to me since the voicemail number couldn't be changed and it was going to be set up to be forwarded which ruins the purpose I guess...
Could anyone enlighten me a little on this?

Not an old thread LOL....

If the first Rep won't do it, call back and try to get another...

Just tell them that you need to change your voicemail # because you are using a new service and like I said if they won't do it, say thanks and try again

u saying they couldnt forward it to that number, but they could another number?
everyone having the same number to forward to is easy: by using the caller ID concept
You have to list your phone number and the lines that you are forwarding. They use caller Id to route it to your mailbox

Technically, with stock sprint voicemail, everytime somebody calls you and you dont have, the call gets forwarded(to your sprint voicemail) and they dont charge u. You're just changing that number that its forwarding too

I dont understand why a rep would say he cant forward the number, because obviously they can (they did)

Because Sprint does not want them changing it. It's not a matter of physically being unable to do it, the reps are not supposed to do it.

Ok, I'm going to attempt this again on my way home from work. I told myself to wait until the phone fusion program recognized the caller's name from my contacts list, but F it.

When I call, I'm going to be as blunt as possible: "I want to change my voicemail service, please change the number my voicemail system is located at to 1-813-200-0200."

Sound good?

why are they 'not supposed' to do it. do u mean for free?
because if they charge .20 why are they not supposed to change it when we're paying for the change? (just for scenarios sake)

it would be better to say "I want to change the number my phone gets forwarded to for voicemail, please change ................."

Because without even asking for conditional forward, where it will answer only when u dont answer or hit the don not answer button, your phone will continue to do what its doing already, except the voicemail number is different, thats all. Like right now with standard sprint voicemail it already set up for conditional forward, which it does everytime u receive a voicemai. U just want to change that number..............

They aren't supposed to change the default vm number. They are supposed to set it up as conditional call forwarding no answer. They want you to be charged.

just a quick heads up for everyone... I really enjoy this service, have used since dec 8 successfully following the instructions with enabling conditional call forwarding etc...Well long story short i have a 63 dollar charge (that i'm disputing) for call forwarding. I asked to be escalated to retentions because i was assured by tech teir 2 that I would NOT be charged extra for the service. Retentions credited me the 63 dollars back (only because she said i was given bad "information" but said (paraphrasing) Sprint is no longer respondsible for call forwarding fees and that call forwarding OF ANY KIND incurs a 20 cents per minute and 20 cent minimum charge per call...and then asked if i agreed and understood. I argued (for about an hour) quoting the call forwarding rules posted on their site. I argued some more. I lost. They reverted to sprint vm. This sucks. Check your bill.

btw have sprint simply everything 99 with tep on two lines (their most expensive plans I'm aware of) they didn't care .

Well actually he can forward it, I got scared when he said I was going to be charged for forwarding calls though. I'm calling again, I guess I confused the rep when I said that I wanted to change the voicemail #, and he confused me when he said that he could only forward the voicemail # to the 813 #...

Thanks for the heads up, I was about to try this and I've had so many issues with them and currently have one ($270+ travel minutes), that I would hate to start another one. Anyway I dunno if they use to give the same warning but the warning he gave me can be used against me in the future if I was to argue about forwarding fees. I'd like to know if anyone who hadn't been charged has started to get charged as well... I'm guessing the 63 dollar charge is pretty recent, going from what you stated before...
