touch pro not charging when in progam

doese any one no how to get the touch pro to charge when you are in a progam. when im in my slingbox it will charge for about one min. but that is it so then my phone dies on me thanks for the help

I was driving for a few hours yesterday using tomtom and noticed my battery was close to dead since I hadn't charged it since the night before so I plugged in the car charger and a couple minutes later the light went solid and battery said 100%. I was like what the heck. So I unplugged it and used it for a few minutes and it went back down to like 10% where it was before. So I plugged it in again but this time had tomtom closed and it charged fine. After an hour of charging i opened tomtom again and the same thing happened. So, yea...I'm seeing this same problem. Are you using a custom rom Biggie or what?

I think the issue is with the battery temperature. With certain programs running, the Touch Pro gets pretty hot. As the battery drains, charging it causes the Touch Pro to get even hotter, so I believe something internally shuts down the battery from charging once it reaches a certain temperature.

Even though it is plugged in, it will not charge unless you cool the Touch Pro down or close the programs that are running. Look at the center dial; if it stops flashing, then it's NO longer charging even though it's plugged in. Put it near a fan or the car's A/C vents.

He's right, it's a safety feature to keep your phone's battery from blowing up on you. When it gets hot, the charging mechanism shuts off to keep it from getting any hotter. If you search, you'll see it's been a problem for several folks.

PITA.

my only formal complaint about this phone is overheating... seems ridiculous.. and even more ridiculous because you can't keep a constant data connection while plugged in... overheats, stops charging = dead touch pro
