Ultimate Battery Thread For All
Basically there are so many threads regarding battery life. I am a battery ***** meaning i do everything i can too gain as much battery life as possible and searching and searching for different ways to improve it.
CUSTOM ROMS They definitely have a major factor on battery life as they include tweaks and also remove a lot of junk that doesnt need to be there. For me Provens GSM rom has given me the best battery and performance. So for CMDA you will have to test several roms for at least a wk and then pick whichever provided the best. RADIOS These are entirely MAJOR battery related and of course signal and GPS related. THERE IS NO BEST RADIO. They all depend on where you live. For me which has recently been released 1.08.25.20M1 Raphael GSM provides great signal and AMAZING battery life. I am located in DC. The radio that i used to use and seems most common 1.02.25.28 Raphael GSM. Again for CDMA you will have to try different radios after finding which rom gives you the best experience for at least a few dys. So too sum it up Rom, Radio, Tweaks, & Location play a major part in battery life. Custom roms such as Provens tend to have all the tweaks and best radios selected already. GSM Radio Thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=439566 Tweak your system for performance and battery CDMA & GSM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=418151 I really didnt have to use this program as it was already done in the custom rom. Before i forget, sometimes the % that displays isnt always correct. Mine tends to hop around sometimes. Also if it reaches say 8% or even 2% you still have alot of time left, i came across this while trying to drain my battery fully a few times and i was waiting for hrs while it was extremely low and windows kept giving me low battery warnings sometimes it even stayed the entire night. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Out Of The Box Charging Techniques This is definitely something people have always and will always argue about, some people say too charge it up fully and then discharge fully. Some say charge it fully initially than just charge it whenever you need too. I cannot say which way is better, some sites do make that decision however. Personally i would recommend fully charging and discharging it at least 4 to 5 times. Basically dont charge it until it turns itself off, then i just leave it off and turn it on after its done charging. After that just charge it whenever you need to, but dont TOP IT OFF, which means always keeping it at 90% or above. Also i dont use car chargers unless its an emergency as SOME say the fluctuation of power in the car could cause issues and weather that is true or not i just rather be safe. Re: Ultimate Battery Thread For All
While technically it is a general Touch Pro forum, PPCGeeks has always skewed toward CDMA, while XDA-Developers tends to skew toward GSM. As well, since the majority of users are rather novice here, they tend to leap to assuming whatever they see will work on their device since GSM is so under-represented here. I would strongly suggest at least labeling your links to make it clear. Can never be idiot-proof enough.
