Battery: What I'd like to see

Last year I bought my wife an Instinct. Not the phone I would choose for myself, but she loves it. I came with 2 batteries. Now the battery life on the instinct is not too bad, but they thought to include 2 batteries!
And, the good part, they included a little 'box' that has the same plug as the phone to charge the extra battery. So you could, if you needed to, carry the extra battery in your pocket protected in its' little charging box. And it's ready to go when you need it and can charge offline.
The charger is just a wall-wart with a special plug that is not usb ;(, but it fits both the phone and the battery box. Oh, and the box has a LED to tell you when it's fully charged.
Why didn't HTC do something thoughtful like this? I mean, they already knew there was an issue because they increased the battery size from the original specs.
If someone made this solution for the TP, I'd order it yesterday. (Hear that Seido?)
