I was kinda hoping to see the transparent background added. Unless of course I have just overlooked it...(strong possibility) :-(

I haven't run HTC for a while, but I always liked it so I decided to install it last night for another option to play with.

I am running Merdin's 6.5 ROM. I installed HTC, but the system hung up on the soft reset. I reset it twice & then it finally booted & seemed to work fine. I set the home screen to show just HTC & WeatherPanel like I've done in the past & last night it worked great.

This morning, the system hung on a soft reset again & then absolutely refused to boot no matter what I did. I had made an SPB Backup right before the HTC install so it was no big deal, I hard reset & restored the BU & the system is fine again.

Has this happened to anybody else??

I'm using this with Juicy 8 (winmo 6.5). No problems here.

I was wondering if there was a way to have this program only have the clock, email, sms, and missed calls?? I don't really use the other portions of this program and it eats up more battery. If someone could do that I would appreciate it. I used to use Phone Alarm Pro, but it also uses alot of battery. Thanks so much. This is a great program.

what were you doing when it hung, had you just done screen rotation and then rotated back? That's what causes it to hang for me every time unless I delete the short cut on the launch menu and add it back in.

Yes, you have two options for this. Either disable all of the other tabs through Settings->Today->HTC Home, or disable them through HHC. The only issue with this is that it stretches the home tab (where you would normally switch to different tabs) out across the screen and it stays highlighted. You could maybe get rid of this with modified graphics, but the space would still be there.

1) The screen rotation freeze problem is just weird. Do you install to device or internal storage? I never have the freeze problem with htchome2, so that works for me, I believe it installed directly to device, but I tried yours to device as well, at times I tried other versions to internal storage.

I always install to the device, and most of the time through a Sashimi auto-install. I've never tried to internal storage (although that would be a storage card in my case).

2) I realize now my time/battery meter question is completely off topic, it has nothing to do with the today home plug-in, any thoughts though?
I don't think you can get both on there at the same time, but you could always get one of the battery overlays instead, such as DCI Battery Meter. It only takes up a pixel or two vertically across the top of your screen. It is attached to this post: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...98&postcount=9

3) I think the message I saw about v2 was right in hhc, either during install or viewing the website through preview or download. I didn't play with it that long before I realized it had nothing I really wanted. I think basic black has the best readability and probably the best battery conservation so I deinstalled it and moved right on to htchome2 and success!
It may have been something referring to the version of HTC Home that was installed. I believe all the version that people are using now are version 2.x of HTC Home.

4) Have you tried this with any 6.5 roms? Any problems? I liked my older version on grooverom 5 a lot, it worked really well, but I thought that's when my rotate problems started. But now I'm back on Sprint revised shipped and I still had the problems, maybe going back to 6.5 soon with htchome2! Can I install this with Sashimi or is it tricky since you should turn tf3d or windows default(platinum) off before installing or does it not matter at all? Any thoughts? I'm thinking about using Sashimi or UC so I can try more roms with less per flash overhead.

Thanks again, I'm really excited about having this version running!:headbang::headbang::headbang:
I have used it on MightyROM5 with no issues, however I never use the screen rotation option. The only item I keep in the launcher from what is there by default is the device lock. I also don't use the Profiles or Music tab. All I really did to this version is hex edit the dll so that it would look for the files in \HTCHome instead of \Windows, and repackage some cabs either for convenience or (in the case of HHC) to replace QVGA files with VGA.

Normally when I run my Sashimi set up I already have TF3D disabled because of some other items I install, but I imagine it would be ok to do it with it enabled as well.

I will take a look and see if the cabs install anything related to the screen rotation and maybe I could replace that with the one in htchome2 if there is actually something installed.

Sorry about taking so long to respond, hope this helps.

Since yours was a rather easy one for me to do, that is now complete :) It'll be up in a couple minutes.

Thanks for the thoughtful and complete response.

I am curious as to what gets installed in all these plugins, do you have lists you could post of what you're cabbing up? I'm still just starting to understand some of the layers of ppc programming. I have no idea what is being installed with a home plugin and where it all goes and how it gets called. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanx!

I just love this program. I was so tired of TF3D. This allows me to have a little of both worlds. I was wondering if there would be any way to make the date in the upper right hand a little bigger and maybe put something in the upper left hand corner to make it look uniform. Thanks again.

Banzaiwolfe, just really wanted to say thanks. I hate TF3D and have been looking for this app ( a vga, working one) for a little bit. Not sure why I've never seen this thread before, but I'm glad I did. Works perfect and is the nice classic interface I love. I believe it also actually helps save battery life on my TP due to the low memory usage. So, thanks again.
