Exclamation Re: Screen Shots

Guys, I am stunned that some of you are not only begging for thanks but are openly admitting to not helping someone because they haven't used the thanks button enough for you! That is ridiculous and sad in my opinion. Our site stands apart from other sites because of the spirit of helping to help, not "what kind of kudos will I get".

If this is going to be the way people wanna be about the thanks button maybe the staff needs to think about doing away with it or taking it away from users with this poor attitude of community spirit. Who's to say he wouldn't have clicked it eventually? Heck, I would have thanked those who were helping him myself until the begging and complaining started.

To those whining about receiving thanks, let me ask you this. Do you think I should demand you click thanks for me because I donate my free time to mod this site? Do you think I should value you less as a member for not doing so?

I don't have that attitude and neither should you!

Re: Screen Shots

Lex,
After 193 posts no matter how many sites you're on clicking thanks once is just not that hard or time consuming. but man your busy.

Ninja,
I think your post would be the diffinition of over reacting and munipulation of intent. I am NOT looking for thanks from you or anyone and no one was "whining" and no one posted asking for thanks for themselves. Your post is just wrong. I posted not really even for anyone NOT getting a thanks but find it "funny" that someone can post 193 times and as Lex himself comments can see that someone gently mentioned that he should hit the thanks button and STILL can't take out the time to do it. As I said "I guess not saying thank you must be some kind of statement.......I just havent figured out what and why" Still curious to this answer. BTW thanks for your effort in this great site, but maybe a chill pill will help you.

I also find it VERY VERY funny that you have in your signature "BEGGING" for a thank you!!!! You don't see that in mine!

+1 for chill pill. I am not impressed Ninja chick, brown belt or not, you could have made your point in a better way and remedy both sides. Saying thank you is just the right thing to do also and a show of grattitude.

Uh not so fast there Ninja Mommie...I do believe that there should be community spirit, in fact this site probably has the best reuptation for those Forum traits. However, I can speak from practicality about the frustrations that go along with hondreds of members, nationally, and internationally grabing what they can via down loading art work, applications, and and the like without ever saying thank you. Your wrong Ninja, In fact it should be the other way around. Members that don't thank should be penalized not the member thats being productive and keeping the site going by contributing their developement in what ever capacity. What kind of thinking is that That we just keep churning out art and other contributions and just shut up and dont say anything when folks just keep taking and taking and never say thank you? I don't think so. Look at Developers like AC and what people have done with his S2US App (One he offered for free) that people are now profiting off of. Also I haverecent seen art work that I have designed incorporated in themes on other sites that are being marketed asd if the site owner developed the art. Wrong Ninja very Wrong. Sorry just my 1 cents. lol...

No fatboy, I don't need a chill pill for doing my job here. lol

And my signature about the thanks button has been there since the roll out of the thanks button as an advertisement for the button and it's function in general. I just haven't changed my sig in awhile which stinks since I really wish I had gotten to my brown belt by now. A subtle sig line and coming out telling someone they should thank you or stating you don't help those for not using the thanks button to your specific ratio is very different. What if someone is always helping and not being helped? They would have posts and no need to click thanks. You gonna deny them help when they need it because you assume they should have clicked help in the past? Sad!

Re: Screen Shots

Wow, sorry to get this so far side tracked, but I'm really disappointed here.

First of all, my questions still weren't answered and my problem still isn't resolved. I suppose the people who provided links to the cab could have been thanked, but I still don't have my solution. Am I supposed to thank anyone who response with any information or do I thank the person with the final solution or what? I try to always say thanks in the thread and I always appreciate the help.

Even still, I'd be lying if I said I'd have given "official" thanks to the person supplying the solution. I just didn't realize that was the protocol here or that it was so important to accumulate thank you points.

I think, if an outsider looked that this thread, they probably would have the same reaction that NinjaMom did and that's not good. I'm sure there are tons of people here who don't click the thank you button, yet there's no lack of appreciation or malicious intent in any way.

Boy, I agree 100%. When I first started posting here, I didn't realize what that green button was for or what it did. It actually took some bozo begging for someone to "hit the green button" when all the poster had done was think them profusely in their response for me to realize how important this was to some people (& I still don't really understand why??)

I post & help people whenever I can, but have never once asked or prompted anyone to "hit the button" & have still managed to garner a thanks here & there. There are a few posters (who will remain nameless), who seem to like to strut about announcing how many thanks they have any chance they get, I always figure those posters are little weenies using Mommies AOL account........
