from the dev website looks like its going to android and blackberry but no WM support, do we have anything like this?

I'm pissed the Iphone is getting all these awesome apps and the Pocket PC crowd seems weak on new programs being released.

I'm pissed that all the apps we have to pay out the *** for like shazam musicid and IM+ are released for free or very cheap on iphone.

Sometimes makes me think I should get an Iphone because there is so much attention with that platform the programs are just going to keep coming out. Just a side note I saw one of those best of 2008 tech news this morning and they said because the Iphone was the first phone with a touch screen every carrier now has touch screen phones. I thought to myself my ppc6600 had a touch screen like 5 years ago.

It is a little disapointing all the attention the iPhone is getting by developers, I think that as pocket pc get cheaper and more mainstream developers will start making WM versions as well. Still stinks though.

A dedicated application is optimized for that service, its easier and faster to use.

I don't think it has to do with price but rather with the platform itself. There are only 2 iPhones out there, and that makes development for the hardware MUCH easier. A convenient 1-stop store (Handango can go suck it, they're awful) also helps tremendously.

There are efforts to get a similar software depot set up for WM, I believe it has been initiated on XDA...

The iPhones API's are also much less vast due to only having 2 devices.

from what I read over at wmpoweruser.com microsoft is creating there own apps store code named skymarket, cant wait...
