Re: What is the best application to run .jar and .jad files?

It's not the phone's fault, those java games aren't made for VGA resolution. They're made for teeny tiny motrola razr screens!

IIRC, the Moto Razr is less that 240x320, but I may be wrong...

Those tiny screens you speak of are what we had in the Apache, Tilt, Touch and Mogul =]

Um, no, most java games aren't intended for ppc at all, whether they be the Apache, Touch, or Mogul. We have to install a java emulator like Esmertec to even get them to run at all on our windows mobile devices. They're intended for actual PHONES, not ppc's.

Actually, there are ALOT of java games for PPC. Gameloft makes plenty of 'em.

Re: What is the best application to run .jar and .jad files?

*sigh* OK, you win. Point I was initially making was that the games he was complaining about that play in little tiny squares in the upper corner of his screen weren't made for our phones, and probably not even for the ppc at all. Yes, you are correct, there are a few java games made for the ppc, but those more than likely don't have the resolution issues he's referring to. Windows Mobile doesn't play seamlessly well with java games and applets, if it did, we wouldn't need a java runtime emulator to run them. I LOVE Opera Mobile, but it's still not perfect, because of the limitations of java and the java Emulators we're forced to use.

Re: What is the best application to run .jar and .jad files?

Sorry to revive an old thread, but do any of you get the following message when trying to load a .jad or .jar file?

"<app name> cannot be found in local installer folder- 77"

I installed JBED and it still doesn't work.
