We are all in the same boat as you are Zircor. I havent found a fix for this yet. And Verizon states its a problem with the network. But what I dont get is why can I receive text messages over 160 from another Windows Mobile phone?

Or from other carriers with non-WM phones. With the WM, I think it's the way it breaks it up before hitting the network.

I was on the phone with Verizon and they had no clue what was going on. So the lady did a conference call with HTC. HTC stated there is nothing wrong with the phone its Verizon.

Right, plus Verizon users don't have the problem of texts arriving hours late, the next day, or not at all like the many recent threads about Sprint service.

A guy I work with was let out of a Sprint 2 year contract with no ETF because of these kinds of problems. Sprint was either unwilling or incapable of fixing these problems.

ok guys, I by no means am a genius, but i did figure out the Verizon enhanced messaging service. You know, someone sends you a message that goes past the 160 characters thus formating a second text... Lets say you send someone a message that is 820 letters and it has to break it down into 5 separate text messages, yup i figured it out. This is for the HTC touch pro, i only have the Sprint Version of the HTC Touch Pro with service on Verizon. Ping my messages if you want to know how I did it... :)

This fix is specifically for this problem:

I got the first 160 characters and a second text saying "preceding msg modified, media objects removed". She got a text back saying "Message Delivered to *phonenumber* as plain text Destination does not support Enhanced Messaging Service"

ok yeah this is making me mad. i have the same problem. i rreally really think that its because of the verizon take over??? i used to have a ax8600 and i could send over 160 characters and it would come as one message. same if one was sent to me. it would all come as one. now i noticed anyperson i send it will come as more than one message.

Sorry to kick an old thread but was searching for a solution rather than start a new thread....

I dont mind that the message is broken into 160 seperates... I just hate the error message that both side get on VZW... Has this still not been addressed yet on smartphones ??.. Do Android and BB get same error as WM ??
