Rom dump?

I am not sure if this has been asked before, it seems to me like it would have been, but searching for rom dump was not what I was looking for. I want to know how you extract an image of your phone (files and all). So basically I would always have a backup if anything ever happened, I could reflash it and have all my apps and settings the way they were when I took the dump. (lol)
I am not sure if that is what a rom dump is, but it sounds good to me. Thanks

Re: Rom dump?

There is not a way to use sort of a dd type program to copy all the data from the phones memory bit by bit into a file on the PC (ideally nbh)?? when someone gets a new phone and the cooks ask them for a dump, how do they do that?

Thank you for asking this question, i was looking for this for the exact same reason. I might try to use spb backup but like you said i was really trying to make my own nbh/rom....

So I do not see much hope in creating an nbh file directly. That's fine, there are instructions on cooking a dump into an nbh, but I have not found very much info on how to make the dump in the first place. How is this done? Thanks

Re: Rom dump?

rom dumps only dump the os portion, the same portion you flash there is a way to dump the user portion, but I think writing it back risks a brick, because it cant be flashed with ruu

Re: Rom dump?

So the apps I have added and files I have created are in the os portion or the user portion?
