GPS Standalone Mode

On my Mogul I had the ability to turn on standalone mode or a hybrid mode via a registry edit. However it seems like when I'm roaming on my TP and try to use the TomTOm it can't find the signal because my data connection isn't working. Can anyone point to me to those edits so that I can turn on standalone mode.
