Incoming Text Message

Hey I searched for this but couldnt find it

Is there a way that I can receive an entire text message in 1 message
(ex. No limit to the characters in a message and not get like 3 separate messages when you receive it.)

Do you understand me?

Thanks

I would like that as well, but i think it has to do with the service providers text message limit? Im unsure.

Re: Incoming Text Message

SMS was designed to deliver short bursts of data such as numerical pages. To avoid overloading the system with more than the standard forward-and-response operation, the inventors of SMS agreed on a 160-character maximum message size.

Regardless of what its original intentions were - people still send txts that are longer than the bible. It'd be nice if there were a way to just combine them all once the device receives the sms(es).

Re: Incoming Text Message

in regard to having text messages in one big block you need to have Enhanced Messaging Service on your phone. Most non "smart" phones have this standard and therefore can send and receive messages more than 160. However, most carriers do not include the EMS feature on WinMo phones because they assume that people using these phones will use email for big messages.

Theoretically it should be possible to get over 160 on your phone, i just dont know how.
