Am I correct to assume that since it is using the satellites now, that the GPS is "unlocked" correctly at least?

EDIT: Live Search doesn't seem to be connecting to the satellites either. Just displays "Waiting for GPS..." for a while then says it lost the connection :(

Yes you are unlocked. If you see that manny being "used" I would soft reset, walk outside and try again.

YEah, if you are hitting 3 or more than you can get a fix. 1 is a LOB (line of baring), 2 is a cut (Think of a circle with two lines coming out the middle in differnt directions to form the slive of a pie) , 3 or more is a fix. Fix is a confirmed location....

Wow, I guess I didnt need to say all that.... BUt yeah, that is accurate.

But back to the point.... Yeah, if you hit 3 and dont lock after about 30 to 45 seconds soft reset and try again.

Yes! I had the same phones as you - 6700, 6800, and now the Touch Pro. The 6800 was a great phone, but the Touch Pro? I love it! So much better.

Okay, back on topic... :)

I can't wait for the aGPS fix! bored GPS fix v3 baby! :)

Until aGPS is figured out I tried this: GPS TODAY http://www.geoterrestrial.com/

It basically keeps turning on GPS @ user set time intervals - keeping it alive. I have it set from 6am to 11pm. When I woke up this morning I had sats locked in about 15 seconds. Usually after a long time out from GPS it takes lots of minutes to re-acquire a signal.

I haven't fully tested the battery drain but this DOES work well FWIW.....
