I didn't thing alltel had the gps locked. Either way please dont install this fix for it will make things complicated getting your device programmed correctly.

Just an update to my previously posted questions. I believe my GPS was just off from multiple troubleshooting runs. I went through and downgraded to the Sprint ROM, then to the VZW MR1 ROM, and then the Bell ROM (to upgrade the radio). Never let any of the customizations run. Last step was loading a custom ROM, I chose jtuite 21725 ROM with WM 6.5.

I now have a WM 6.5 ROM with working GPS on my xv6900 on verizon's network.

Good luck to those out there that are still having problems...best option if you have time is to start from the bottom up!

Any chance that aGPS will ever be enabled on this device?
Sure the GPS works, but it takes a few minutes to acquire and even then it is not very stable on metropolitan roads.

i installed everything as described. doesn't seem to be working. not sure what i did wrong. I have a Verizon HTC Touch PRO. Can someone steer me in a right direction for troubleshooting? Thanks

did u turn gps on? goto settings -phone-service tab-get settings -turn on.
let me know what it doing or not doing.

I also have installed everything as described, more than once and can not get this to work. My GPS is set to "location on" and I have tried every COMM combination. It just doesn't work. Is it because I live in NYC???

try running quick gps app. in ur list of apps. then try.

I know people who have trouble with their "real" GPS units in NYC (steel canyons).

I assume you are trying outside, and with a clear view of the southern sky?
