Re: Activesync Constantly Starts Up
Before I try the method in the link that Zoheb318 posted (seems like some of that would be hard to reverse if somewhere down the road I wanted to get my email via activesync), I'd like to make sure I'm not doing anything wrong with elias asynckiller.
Does elias asynckiller work with the TP? Has anyone tried it and gotten it to work? Any tricks to getting it to work? For me, I seee asynckiller running in dotfred's task manager, but also repplog (active sync) is also still running, so it's definitely not killing it. Over in elias' xda thread, it does seem as if some people with newer devices are seeing the same thing. |

Re: Activesync Constantly Starts Up
Zoheb's method works, I unwittingly typed up my instructions in my own thread:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...ght=activesync But it's basically the same method. To reverse the process, you'd basically need to follow the same steps and reverse the settigns. It's really easy. I think the bigger benefit I've seen since this morning - is that my phone hasn't turned itself on at all. So I expect to see some battery life savings. I suspect that activesync was turning on my backlight overnight - causing my battery to discharge. |

Re: Activesync Constantly Starts Up
polloloco,
I appreciate the help, but that didn't do it for me. Followed the instructions exactly. I soft reset and activesync did not start up right away on reboot, at it normally has done, but after a few minutes, it did start up on it's own. What about the other set of instructions that were linked to up above? This link http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...&postcount=404 That's what I was talking about as perhaps being difficult to reverse. You didn't do that and activesync is staying closed for you? Also, yes, if this solves the problem of the device randomly coming on frequently I definitely want to get this right. EDIT: Upon further review, after doing it all a 2nd time, Activesync hasn't started up now after about 15 minutes, so far. I guess I'll give it a while and post the final verdict back here later. well, what I always do to keep as from popping up, is install pocket mechanic, or any app that can work with notification que, and remove the enty "replog runaftertimechange" don't delete any other replog entries, just that one, and as will stay off till you sync with pc

Re: Activesync Constantly Starts Up
Yes, I sent that pm. I was ticked off the other day after you attacked me again. Maybe I shouldn't have quite used that language.
Why are you following me around harassing me? That doesn't really make for a friendly forum, you know. Just because I don't click the thank you button as often as you'd like, you feel the need to keep attacking me? Didn't the forum mod already deal with this thread once after you started up last time. Why are you back here? What's wrong with you? Last edited by lexluthor; 02-07-2009 at 12:31 AM. |

Re: Activesync Constantly Starts Up
hbenz, please refrain from posting PMs from any member in open forums, because whatever happens in the locker room stays there first off. That's how everything here gets ugly. You either set the example or be one. I ain't trying to throw you under the bus or anything like that, but you gotta know that posting personal conversations on here is a big no-no.
Secondly, enough of this discussion based on "Thanks" and keep this thread on topic. Otherwise we will have no choice but to close this thread. Final warning... Now you people can make this blow over like a fart in church. |
