Re: Laggy Keyboard Fix

the cab file sets the initial delay to values that are higher than i previosuly posted, using a registry editor allows you to have more control of what values you find more responsive for yourself.

Definitely noticed an reduction in typing lag. The lag is still there, but definitely not as bad as before. I'll twiddle a little more with the numbers, and see if I can get any improvement. Meanwhile.. THANKS!

One more "thanks"- I changed the values in the registry and a consistent irritation is much improved. Thanks!

r u guys using touch pro?

if so this is no new hack or tweak

this cab/registry change is doin no more than u could already do in settings/buttons/up down control

and it only controls repeat rates: how long before repeat and how fast to repeat so i dont know how u guys can see improvements by making a change to this

i still see lag when i type text messages

Well that's interesting!

I checked my settings and sure enough they had been changed. So I only changed the repeat length and guess what? back to laggy typing. I put it back to where the changes had put it and still laggy.

I wonder if the reg changes makes a difference that the on-screen adjustments can't

Re: Laggy Keyboard Fix

ok let me explain myself a little better.

- I made the changes in post #1, rebooted.
- the keyboard was much more responsive. No lag (words catching up) when typing. ONLY on backspace, was that key laggy so i edited the settings for delay. That didn't work and made it go back to the way it originally was (slow words catching up_

- I went back into the registry and found this

"InitialDelay"=dword: 250 (edited value 125)

"RepeatRate"=dword: 2 (edited value 2)

- Now i only adjusted the repeat rate, but that changed the initial delay rate. So wtf??????

Anyhow, i entered the 125 value again and it's all good again. I'll leave it as is though :P
