sound quality terrible if charing

When I plug in my adapter to 3.5 audio and the audio quality is fine. If i plug in my charger (car charger is only time i have tried this) its sounds really bad. If i turn the audio off the white noise/static sound is directly in proportion to my RPMs of my vehicle, sounds kind of cool actually but what gives, anyone else with similar problems?

haha.. That is weird.. Never had that before.. What do you drive? I guess the vibrations from the engine are rattling the charger, therefore rattling the speaker in your phone.. Harmonic vibration!

The alternator that keeps your car's electrical system charged up produces RF interference. Car radios need to be shielded against this, and it is especially noticeable on AM radio bands. Windshield wiper motors can also produce interesting RF interference.

I'm very curious to know if anyone else has experienced this -- I have an 80's era set of big Pioneer headphones (SE-205) plugged into a 3.5 adapter, plugged into the 3 way adapter that came in the box with my Sprint Touch Pro. I also have connected a standard Motorola micro USB charger (AC) plugged in to the wall. I listen to downloaded podcasts, not high quality audio -- I have not been bothered by any noise.

I have the same issue. I am using an adapter that has a charger and 3.5mm jack on it. Changing the grounding point for my charger helped significantly, but I still has the same issue. I need to try a ground loop isolator, but I'm to lazy to build/buy one. Using the same set up in my wife's truck I do not have the issue.

you just have a simple ground loop
it happens.
to get around it stop by walmart and pick up a ground loop isolator in the car audio section.
good luck!

It's engine whine from the alternator of the car. It happens when audio equipment isn't grounded correctly. It's a common occurance when installing aftermarket amps. It's more likely a grounding problem with the car's cigarette lighter than a problem with the internal wiring of the phone. Do you still hear a noise when you plug the phone into a wall outlet? If not, you might be able to make it better by grounding it closer to the car battery.

is this something you have to install under the hood of the car or just an adapter like this http://www.crutchfield.com/p_127SNI1...d+loop&tp=2653

I dont know if something like that would help because the connection that is causing the problem is adapter not the audio.

Yes that should work.
or

depending on your configuration.

Your saying yes to the under the hood or yes to an adapter.

How do you install the device you mentioned in your links?
