Replacing with diamonds!!
 
Just got off the phone with sprint because i was having problems with my pro and it died and they were trying to get a replacement order in and the lady told me that she only can send me a brand new diamond with a car charger and i said what!!!She told me that the pros are back ordered and the diamond is the same but no keyboard and i told her that its not the same and she wanted to tell me its brand new with a car charger then i told her anyway i have a diamond to so why would i want another one?And i need you guys help what should i do and she said if i get the diamond i wont be able to get a pro when there in stock so im stuck

Check your local Sprint stores and swap there if they have any in stock.

Tell them to give you a temp phone for the time being until they get the Pro's back in stock

Then your only alternative is to get a Diamond if your current phone is not functional. You should fall under the 30 day return policy so you will be able to swap back but unless you get something in writing from Sprint, you will probably have to pay the difference. Since you already had a Touch Pro and they are swapping you to a Diamond because there are no Touch Pro's right now, they BETTER credit you back the difference right now. Then when you go back to a Touch Pro you already have the money for it.

You are probably just going to have to wait until they are caught up on orders. I had to wait 2.5 weeks for mine, but it came. I know it sucks but its not the end of the world.

A lot of it is who you talk to when you call sprint. Its like a lottery, you never know if the person will actually help you.

I wouldn't freak out though, you will get the replacement.

I'd call a couple of your closest Sprint stores and, after explaining the situation, ask them to hold 1 of the next Pro's they get in stock. Most stores seem to be getting one or two shipments a week, but they are often selling out the same or next day.

If you can get a store to hold one and call you when they get their next shipment, you should be able to do an in-store swap. If the first person that answers the phone doesn't want to help, I'd just politely ask for a manager.

Believe it or not even the GIMP is out of stock. I live in Charlotte NC and there was 1 locally yesterday when I went to get a replacement :D and yes I went and got it.....

Well then wtf? Learn patience, tell them to send you a Touch Pro when they come in and stop crying. That's a good idea, but with limited availability, most stores would rather hurry up and sell the phones they get in stock rather than use them as swap outs.

I think Acer's post was justified. There is a difference in being rude and being frank to someone. From the original post you made it sound like you were in a super bad way, without a phone. That was not the case at all.

They can just order it. I had a replacement for my f'd up replacement (the screen has random blotches on it that change daily, (here, are, some pictures) and they just backordered it each time, and a week or so later it shows up.

Of course they were going to order me a diamond cause they thought the replacement didnt work. I told them it works the screen just looks all messed up and they said send back the one with cracked chrome and live with the screen on the replacement until the new replacement comes in.

I'd just hang up on the dumbass and call right back. Anytime i call into sprint and get a answer i dont like i just hang up and call right back. If 3 reps say the same thing then you know its true but some times they're just being lazy and dont want to find a way. If that doesnt work then dan@sprint.com lol

I have been waiting for the past 3 weeks to do an exchange. Last thing I heard was it will be available in 1 to 2 weeks (end of Dec.)

hahaha oh to be dan@sprint.com. I bet he sees a lot of requests like this. "Hey dan, they said they were out, can you go ahead and send me one anyway?"

My God the touch pro is doing good. I used to think it was Sprint just ordering a limited supply, but after having to wait for my accessories for the thing, I can tell there are a lot of people with this phone, WHICH IS GOOD. I hope this phone triggers a ton of apps. It's only like 2 months old and it already has so much stuff for it, imagine how it will be 6 months from now.

I'm not sure why they won't just order you one. They can place orders just fine.

nope, as long as you return it within 30 days then you should have no problem exchanging back to a TP...

also you should email ecare with your complaint about this situation. They'll take care of you. have them put in writing that you wont need to pay the difference to get back into the TP once in stock... problem solved.

I would never advise you to do something I have not already personally done a few times... how you think i got my current diamond free of charge lol. :mrgreen:

I see you are from St. Louis. I just bought mine from a Sprint store at the mall in St. Louis last Saturday. He told me he had 3 of them after I bought mine. You might want to check and see if they have anymore.
